This Privacy Policy explains how Covly ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website at covly.app and use our AI-powered cover letter and resume-tailoring tools.

What we collect

We collect your email address when you join the Covly waitlist. The waitlist captures the name and email you provide through the signup form (POST /api/covly-waitlist) and stores them in the covly_waitlist table along with the source page and any UTM tracking parameters.

When you create a Covly account and complete onboarding, we collect the resume text or resume file you upload so we can generate tailored cover letters. Resume content is stored against your account record.

As you use the product, we store job-description text and application metadata — such as the role title, company name, and the cover letter we generate for you — in the applications table so you can revisit and re-run past applications.

How we use it

We use your information to: deliver and operate the Covly product, including authenticating your account and rendering your saved applications; send you a waitlist confirmation email when you sign up so we can verify your address and notify you when access opens; generate tailored cover letters and resume bullets by sending the job-description text and your resume content to our AI provider; respond to support requests; and improve the product by understanding which features are used.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your resume content or application details with third parties other than the AI provider that generates your cover letters.

Retention

Waitlist entries are retained until either you request deletion of your data or the Covly product is wound down. If you are a Covly user, your resume content and stored applications are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your resume content and application records within 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights apply regardless of where you live — we extend the protections of GDPR and CCPA to all users.
